Meet The Founder: Ravneet Vohra

“I decided to take this project into my own hands, real conversation, real women and real bodies.”

Emerging from the streets of Oakland, Wear Your Voice Magazine was founded in 2014 by Ravneet Vohra. Growing up in an era without the internet. Ravneet was heavily influenced by the glossy pages of high end fashion magazines. Magazines designed for only one type of woman. It wasn’t until much later in life that Ravneet realized the negative impact such media had on her self image, self esteem and mind. As a mother, Ravneet realized she had a responsibility to make change, and take responsibility for the sexist multimedia crisis we were living in by addressing the way the next generation of women perceived themselves, and out was borne her dream child, Wear Your Voice Magazine.
